david letterman is pathetic

Just a thought ... would the public reaction have been the same had David Letterman made similar comments about an underage Sasha or Malia Obama being "knocked up" by a ARod?

Yeah, as if. I think not.

Double-standards suck.

And what the fuck is wrong with the collective [lack of] morals in this country? I mean, the laughter from the audience after Letterman's comments was almost as sick as the original slur.
Letterman came under fire for his Tuesday night monologue in which he noted that the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate attended a Yankees game during a trip to New York City, where she was honored by a special needs group. Letterman referred to Palin as having the style of a "slutty flight attendant."

He then took a shot at Palin's daughter, saying, "during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."
Letterman later attempted to spin things by saying he was referring to Palin's older daughter, Bristol, not 14-year-old Willow. Pssst ... hey, Dave. In case you weren't aware, Bristol wasn't even at the game ... Willow was.
"Acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others," she said.

Palin's husband, Todd, echoed her sentiments, telling FOXNews.com, "Any ‘jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it, and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."

The whole thing really pisses me off. The number of "celebrities" I can stomach these days is becoming fewer and fewer.

Totally out of control.

Definitely bad form on Dave's part, to say the least. Is he so desperate for jokes right now that he's going back to Palin? I mean, seriously, why would she still be under fire? Wildly inappropriate.

Totally agree with you on this... I find NO humor in making fun of people's children... The parents choose to be in the public, not the children.. And last time I checked, Bristol was not yet an adult during the election.

But David... when you live in glass house, you might not want to throw stones my friend!!
